The IBN (Institut for Baubiology and Sustainability) in Rosenheim Germany has updated their 25 guiding principles. The principles were established in 1977 to help designers create healthy, beautiful, ecological and sustainable buildings and socially connected communities. Since then building practice and technologies have moved on rapidly and the guidelines have now been updated to reflect these changes. The guidelines consider environmental, ecological, economic and social aspects and aim to provide a wholistic strategy to sustainable building design.
